The typical story of the band member with the most gear

It was at Sheridan College where his audio world would explode. Exposed to film, television, and multimedia, Craig soon began creating sound for student films.

Citing influences such as The Doors "Riders on the Storm" and Pink Floyds "The Wall" and "Wish You Were Here", Craig began writing music and editing sound effects to create moody soundscapes for the films of his fellow students. "I loved The Wall, all the "radio play" aspects of that record really spoke to me. I tried to apply that idea to these short films, never going for "hear a dog, see a dog". I wanted to get sound effects to play like music".

It was at Sheridan that Craig met his partner in crime, Steve Barden. Together they started a partnership that exists to this day. "I wouldn't have done or pushed myself half as hard if Steve wasn't around. That guy is a monster audio genius, a dear friend and ally in this business."

Together they moved on to Deluxe Toronto and Sound Dogs Toronto. In 1998 he was nominated for a GENIE (Canadian Oscar) for best Sound Editing for the film CUBE directed by Vincenzo Natali. In 1999 he won a GEMINI (Canadian Emmy) for Best Sound Editing for the television series TOTAL RECALL-2070. Further nominations rounded out 2000 and 2001 with another GEMINI for La Femme Nikita.

Sound design/editing on director Darren Aronofsky's REQUIEM FOR A DREAM garnered Craig his first MPSE nomination. His work with director Courtney Solomon on DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS led to a working relationship with Leslie Shatz, a noted sound designer/re-recording mixer, and in the spring of 2001 Craig found himself in Los Angeles. The summer brought on work with the original Sound Dogs, working on Michael Mann's biopic ALI. In less than 5 years Craig has amassed a very wide palette of talents that lend themselves well to the diverse films he has worked on.

"I like making the big sounds, itīs fun, but they play straightforward, the trick is to create the world, the mood, the orchestration of a interesting but perfectly integrated soundscape for the film".
