Obsessed from the age of five with tape recorders, Brian Jennings grew up to pursue a career in music and recording. Five years as a Chicago ad mixer were followed by six years working in Hollywood, learning about film sound from the world's best. Having accomplished his goals there and missing family (and terrific beer) in the Midwest, he brought his family back to Chicago for good.
"It was great fun to design sound for movies with massive gun battles, medieval jousts, or insane depth charge sequences. But the main challenge and goal with every film has been to help the director tell the story. This is true of films of every genre, budget, or running time. What Chicago Film Sound brings to Chicago is a whole new way of approaching film post. Hollywood does some things very well, and post sound is one of them. Chicago Film Sound builds on that tradition but tailors it to fit the needs of the Chicago film community."
